Fluoride Varnish Now Offered!

In an effort to provide the best possible care for our patients, Reading Pediatrics will begin offering fluoride varnish to eligible patients as of June 5, 2023.

Fluoride varnish is a protective coating that is painted on teeth to help prevent new cavities & stop cavities that have already started.
It is very safe and can be used on babies from the time they have their 1st tooth (around 6 months of age).

Fluoride varnish works best if painted on teeth 2-4 times a year. This does not replace the need to see a dentist regularly. Reading Pediatrics recommends patients be seen by a dentist within 6 months of their first tooth eruption, or before 12 months of age. It is also recommended to continue to see the dentist two times a year.
For more information, please speak with your child’s PCP or see the fluoride varnish handout under the Patient Education section of our website.
